An expert who trains

I work in residential property condition, energy assessment and retrofit — and I teach it. As well as assessing and surveying property myself, I'm a Trainer and Assessor of Domestic Energy Assessors and Retrofit Assessors with Energy Trust. That dual standing matters: a lot of "how to qualify" advice online is written by people who've never done the job, or who only do the job and have never had to explain it to someone starting out. I built this hub because the people I train kept asking the same questions: which route should I take, what does it actually cost, where do I find good CPD that won't break the bank? This is the answer in one place — honest, practical and kept current.

How I keep this trustworthy

• Cited to the source. Qualification routes and CPD requirements reference the bodies that set them (RICS, RIBA, ARB, PCA, TrustMark, gov.uk).
• Reviewed and dated. Each guide shows a "last reviewed" date so you can see how current it is.
• Honest about change. Routes, costs and rules change — where a figure could be out of date, I flag it rather than state it as gospel.
• No hype. Courses are described as "in development, added as ready" — no countdowns, no pressure.
